Whey Natural! USA — LGC Certificates of Analysis
Having the very best whey protein concentrate is not enough for Whey Natural! USA. Our goal is to insure that our protein meets not only nutritional requirements, but also is certified that what we sell is what's in the bag. Since most all athletes, including college, Olympian and professional, get tested for banned performance enhancement drugs on a regular basis, we decided to be certified PED FREE. One less thing for athletes to worry about.
The testing performed in the IS/IC program is broken into two analysis types. The LC/MS and GC/MS indicating which types of analytes will be analyzed by the instrumentation. This testing is described starting on page 4 of the Service Level Agreement, of which I have attached a copy. The CoA is then broken down into the two instrument types describing if any indications were observed. A sample that screens negative will indicate that on the CoA by stating “None were found”. A sample that has an indication would specifically call out the analyte that was observed followed by “all other compounds, none were found”. For example, “LCMS – Screening test indicates the presence of Benzphetamine. All other compounds none were found.” This approach was taken due to the nature of LGC's testing. The current service level agreement currently lists well over a 100 different compounds and listing each individual analyte on a CoA would result in a CoA that would be several pages in length. The approach here was to provide a one page document listing the sample information as well as the results of the screening test. The results were further broken down into the instrument types so that reference to them in the SLA (Service Level Agreement) would be easier. Lastly, the SLA is routinely updated with new analytes which again makes it easier to have the results listed in the CoA in the manner we do.
